What Coaching Is
Most simply put, coaching is a conversation or series of conversations that help you get from point A to point B. The focus is on you and what you’re thinking. While you talk, your coach listens. To keep you moving toward point B, your coach asks questions and shares observations. When you leave your session, you should have a clear picture of a next step you’re motivated to take.
What Coaching Is Not
Think of all of the advice you’ve been given, how often did it serve you well and how often did you feel like you had to follow it to please the person giving it? People giving suggestions usually have good intentions, they want to help. So do coaches, but not by telling you what to do. Instead, coaches make sure you are calling the shots and staying focused on what’s most important to you.
“Erin’s coaching is a work of art. Her coaching is kind and courageous as she creates space for her clients to explore transformational change.”
